History of St.Joseph Lweza Parish
Location Printing:
Initially, Christians in this area studied at Kisubi or Lubaga. And the Parish was separated from Kisubi Parish and the other part was separated from Lubaga Parish as the place was on the border of the zombie Parish and the Fathers who taught every Sunday came from the zombie side. But when the factory (quarry) of bricks, timber and clay (Uganda Clays) was started in Kajjansi, and employed many Italian Catholics, they decided to get a Priest to recite Mass on Sundays in their Italian language.
And in 1960 their Elders approached Rev. Fr. Fr. Ricardo Cays the Italian - who was teaching at the Seminary in Kisubi and was asked to celebrate Mass for them on Sunday in one of the factory buildings in Kajjansi. He also accepted the work and fed them the word of God and administered the other sacraments. Then Christians near the factory began to join them in the study.
